Handbook > Competitive Team Enrollment Policy
Effective: April 16th, 2026
Our Commitment to Transparency
Cupertino FC believes families should understand the complete cost of participation before committing. We do not charge mandatory team fees or add undisclosed costs after enrollment.
This policy explains our competitive program calendar, tuition, payment options, late-entry adjustments, financial aid, and refund terms.
The Competitive Club Year
Cupertino FC is a year-round player-development program with two primary competitive seasons:
Fall competitive season: August 1 – Nov 30
Winter development period: December – February
Spring competitive season: March 1 – Jun 30
Off-season training and preparation: July
Players are expected to commit to the full club year, including both competitive seasons. Stable rosters allow the Club to plan coaching, fields, league placement, and player development effectively.
Annual Tuition
| Enrollment Option | Tuition | Eligibility |
|---|---|---|
| Early Commitment Rate | $2,750 | Initial payment received by March 1st, 2026 |
| Standard Full-Year Tuition | $2,988 | After March 1st, 2026 |
| Spring Enrollment | $1,500 | Players joining the club after November 30th |
| Late-Entry Enrollment | Based on start date | Players joining after a season has begun |
The standard annual tuition is $2,988—equivalent to $249 per month over 12 months.
To qualify for an Early Commitment Rate, the required initial payment must clear by the applicable deadline. Submitting a registration form without payment does not secure the discounted rate.
What Tuition Includes
Competitive tuition includes:
- Three scheduled practices per week during the competitive seasons
- Competitive league games
- Coaching and player development
- Club curriculum and Technical Director oversight
- NorCal or Cal North league registration
- Player insurance
- Field permits
- Club administration and operations
There are no additional mandatory team fees.
What Tuition Does Not Include
Tuition does not include:
- A uniform kit, generally costing approximately $150–$200
- Optional tournament fees, when applicable
Team managers will communicate any optional tournament opportunities and costs in advance.
Spring Enrollment
Spring tuition is $1,500 for a player eligible to participate from the beginning of the Spring season.
Spring enrollment is generally available beginning November 30 and is subject to roster availability. Players whose eligible start date is after March 1 receive the late-start adjustment described below.
Spring tuition must be paid in full. Payment plans are not available for Spring-only or late-entry enrollment.
Late-Entry Tuition
Players joining after a season begins receive a gradual tuition adjustment equivalent to $200 per month missed. The adjustment is calculated gradually based on the player’s start date, with no calendar-month cutoffs.
The exact tuition will be included in the roster offer before the family commits. The quoted amount is fixed when the offer is issued and remains valid for seven days.
Late-entry enrollment is subject to roster availability and generally closes November 14 for Fall and June 14 for Spring.
Registration Requirements
Every competitive player must complete the following requirements before participating in practices or games:
- Complete the Club registration form
- Accept the financial commitment OR submit financial aid form
- Submit the required payment using an approved payment method
These requirements apply to every player and cannot be waived by an individual coach.

Financial Aid
Cupertino FC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to making quality soccer accessible.
If cost is a barrier for your family, contact admin@cupertinofc.org before or during registration. All financial-aid inquiries are handled confidentially.
14-day Satisfaction Guarantee
We want every family to feel confident in its decision to join Cupertino FC.
If you decide within 14 days of your first training that the Club is not the right fit for your child, you may withdraw and receive a full refund of tuition payments made under that offer.
To request a refund, email admin@cupertinofc.org within the 14-day period. Approved refunds will be processed within 14 business days.
Withdrawal and Refund Policy
Withdrawal on or before August 15
A player who withdraws on or before August 15 will be released from future financial obligations but will forfeit any initial payment already made.
If the withdrawal occurs within the 14-day satisfaction-guarantee period, the satisfaction guarantee applies and eligible payments will be refunded in full.
Withdrawal after August 15
Cupertino FC commits to coaching staff, field rentals, league registration, and team budgets based on accepted roster positions.
For that reason, tuition is generally nonrefundable after August 15, and any remaining payment-plan balance continues to be due. Leaving the Club, joining another club, or losing interest in soccer does not end the family’s financial commitment.
Exceptions may be available in the circumstances described below.
Season-Ending Injury
If a player sustains an injury that prevents participation for the remainder of the season, the Club will provide a refund based on the remaining full months of the club year.
A written statement from a licensed physician must confirm that the player cannot continue participating. The refund is calculated from the date of the physician’s determination and is not subject to a maximum.
Submit documentation to admin@cupertinofc.org.
Family Relocation
If a family relocates far enough away that continued participation is no longer practical, the Club will provide a refund based on the remaining full months of the club year.
The refund is calculated from the documented relocation date and is not subject to a maximum. The Club may request documentation such as a new lease, change of address, or enrollment at a new school.
Other Extraordinary Circumstances
We understand that unexpected hardships occur. Families facing extraordinary circumstances not addressed above should contact us.
Requests will be reviewed individually, and the Club will work with the family to seek a fair resolution.
How Cupertino FC Is Different
Many clubs charge annual registration tuition and then assess separate mandatory team fees during the year. Those additional fees can add $1,000 or more to a family’s total cost.
Cupertino FC does not use that structure. Coaching, scheduled training, fields, league registration, insurance, and club operations are included in tuition.
The only separate costs are the player’s uniform and any optional tournaments in which the team chooses to participate.
We also do not require credit-card payment, automatically charge cards without notice, or charge late fees to families receiving new roster offers.
